What you get with the Official Training?

As one supported by SETI (Somatic Experiencing® Trauma Institute), PETER LEVIN, training certification is obtained as professional Somatic Experiencing® (Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner).

It is a valuable tool designed to develop the skills of professionals who deal with the trauma and stress of their patients, to enhance their innate resources.

The presence all, self-regulation and balance the nervous system acquires, makes the own body wisdom appears naturally healing body, mind and soul.

Who is it for?

Psychologists, psychiatrists, doctors, nurses, workers and social workers, physiotherapists and osteopaths, educators, and in general for any healthcare professional interested in training in this new paradigm on the approach of trauma.

Requirement to Access Training

Following the recommendations of the EASE (European Association of Somatic Experiencing®), participation in an Introductory Workshop is a prerequisite for the 3 years of SE® Formation. See website: EASE

(216h. of Credit)

15h Individual Therapy Sessions

18 credits of Supervision. A maximum of 9 credits can be from Group Supervisions.

(Supervision: individual and group)

  • Each module consists in 6 working days; ocasionally one day off.
  • Each student must complete the total number of sessions of individual therapy and individual supervision (or group supervision) as well as attend the modules of each level. The purpose of this policy is for students to know Somatic Experiencing on a personal level so they can integrate it into their professional practice
  • 3 hours of Group Supervision equals 1 hour of Individual Supervision, because the attention given in the Group Supervision is less individualized
  • In the event that the student has not completed at the end of the training the number of personal sessions and / or corresponding supervisions of the three years of the training, they will have two extra years to complete them, and thus receive the SEP diploma (Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner).
  • The cost of training does not include therapy or supervision sessions. These will be paid separately
  • The training will be taught in English with Spanish translation

The Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner Certification (SEP) is not a license to practice psychotherapy or body work. This license is delivered by the appropriate government agencies of each country.

Each module consists of 6 work days, although in El Rompido there is a rest day.

El Rompido (Huelva)

The Somatic Experiencing™ training is a residential course that takes place at the Fuerte El Rompido Hotel (Cartaya, Huelva). This characteristic of training:

  • It facilitates a process of immersion: the contact between teachers, assistants and students is narrower, which allows sharing knowledge and deepening the learning.
  • It allows you to have the great resource that nature supposes, key within the framework of Somatic Experiencing, and very beneficial to assimilate knowledge and rest.
  • The amplitude of the space is ideal for the practice (which is intense and fundamental) of the work groups.

In addition, the service of Hotel Fuerte El Rompido is of high quality, with very competitive economic conditions, good communication and access with transport from Faro and Seville airports and train stations.

You can learn more about the advantages that this natural space offers the formation of Somatic Experiencing™ HERE.
